Ellen Hewett, Senior Technical Advisor

Ellen served as the Director of the National College Network from 2008 until July 1, 2018. As Director she provided vision and oversight to the NCTN team, and assisted state, regional, and municipal agencies, employers, and educational institutions in building the systemic collaboration needed to design and implement college and career readiness programming. In her new role, Ellen continues to provide system-wide professional development activities and consultation aimed at ensuring adult learners’ success.

Ellen’s recent work includes:

Prior to joining the NCTN, Ellen worked for over 25 years as an administrator and faculty member at Springfield College supporting adult learners earn undergraduate and graduate degrees.  She has consulted with college-level programs for adult learners in Sweden, Mexico, China, England, and Brazil. Building on her years of helping organizations build capacity through forward-thinking leadership development programs, Ellen recently joined Granite State College’s Leadership Academy faculty.

Ellen earned her undergraduate degree from McGill University and graduate degree from Southern New Hampshire University. Additionally, she did advanced graduate study at Teachers College, Columbia University.

Recent publications include the Program Administrator Trainer Manual: Building Integrated Pathways through Collaboration, and the Integrated Education and Training: Implementing Programs in Diverse Contexts guide (co-written with colleague Andy Nash).
