Shannon Parker, Adult Education Director

MSAD #5 Rockland Adult Education, located in Rockland, serves the communities of Rockland, South Thomaston, and Owls Head, as well as area towns in Knox County. Rockland Adult Education joined the New England ABE-to-College Transition Project in September 2002.
The College Transition program offers free classes to prepare adults to be successful college-bound students. The program is supportive, accommodating and learner-centered. This free program is for adults who may have been out of high school for some time and want a skills refresher in English and math. This program also serves adults who left school and earned a GED but are missing skills that are useful for college. The program covers reading comprehension, writing, study skills, math review, research skills, time management, computers and the college application process. Classes are held 2-3 evenings a week from 5:00-8:00p.m., beginning in September and January each year.

MSAD#5 College Transition program partners with the local branch of the University of Maine system located in Thomaston.
