These pages feature program profiles from the New England ABE-to-College Transition demonstration project funded by the Nellie Mae Education Foundation. The college transition program consists of instruction in pre-college reading, writing, and math as well as computer and Internet skills. Students also learn study skills, and receive educational and career counseling, as well as assistance with admissions and financial aid applications. The programs work directly with colleges in their community to make the transition process as seamless as possible. The programs operate as part of school districts, community-based organizations, and community colleges.
