LIA

Photo of Lia with her favorite quote, "Live and Learn"

Family:
My parents, 2 sisters, and 3 brothers live in the Azores. Besides me and my older brother, the rest of them still live at home. My father does a lot of different things, like raising cows, pigs, ducks, and chickens. He also runs a lumber business along with my brothers. My mother works around the house like feeding some of the animals, picking vegetables, cleaning the house and washing clothes.

Thoughts of Success: I was invited and I knew it would be a good experience and help on my way to college; I liked working with a small group and having attention from each person involved in the program; What surprised me most was that even the writers write and then revise their work - in other words, anyone can write well.

Best Gift:
My parents were very strict when I was young, but now I understand and at least I am not afraid to do anything in life or at least try it.

Hobbies:
Listening to music and roller blading

My Goals:
Start the medical interpreter program this fall.
