Commission on Adult Basic Education (COABE) National Conference: Making Dreams Come True
May 5-7, 2005 in Anaheim, CA

Cheryl L. Keenan, Director of the U.S. Department of Education’s Division of Adult Education and Literacy in the Office of Vocational and Adult Education, gave the Keynote Address during the opening day. Much of her discussion directly highlights the importance of connecting Adult Basic Education to postsecondary education. The NCTN wants to extend a special thanks to Director Keenan for her PowerPoint presentation, New Expectations for a New Century: The Adult Education Imperative, which she has graciously shared with us.

Presented by Nan Poppe, Campus President, Extended Learning Campus, Portland Community College in Oregon and Judy Taylor, Program Director for Jobs for the Future.
