Relationship with Colleges

DEPARTMENT OF STUDENT SERVICES

For most nontraditional adult learners, going to college can be daunting. It is important to build a relationship with the department that provides student support to ensure that these students receive the attention to make their transition into college seamless.

Although there are variations from college to college, most colleges have the following services: academic support services (academic advising, writing centers, computing services, tutoring, etc.), career counseling, health or wellness centers, and disability support services. Some colleges have offices that specifically support adult students, veterans, women, etc.
