Program planning
Although it might not be possible to run a separate college transition component, it is possible to incorporate some of the ideas provided in this section into your current ABE/GED program.

The program design should take into consideration the needs of the prospective student population and the local context. The transition activities or classes should be held at times that support student attendance and retention. Indicators of Program Quality lists the key ingredients to successful programs. The Action Plan provides a sample timeline for a comprehensive model program that has a two-month planning period for a 15 week part-time program.
