Exemplary Math

  • Understands and uses math vocabulary and symbols sufficiently to understand pre-algebra/basic algebra and basic statistics
  • Understands and uses math reasoning sufficiently to understand pre-algebra/ basic algebra and basic statistics
  • Understands and uses computation in all areas listed in the rubric with 90% accuracy
  • Understands and uses a problem-solving process to solve word problems involving all areas listed in the rubric with 90% accuracy
  • Uses and explains the use of a calculator to compute problems in pre- algebra/basic algebra and basic statistics

Accomplished Math

  • Understands and uses math vocabulary and symbols sufficiently to understand operations with whole numbers, fractions, decimals, percents, and 3 or 4 areas of pre-algebra/basic algebra
  • Understands and uses math reasoning sufficiently to understand operations with whole numbers, fractions, decimals, percents, and 3 to 4 areas of pre- algebra/basic algebra
  • Understands and uses computation in all areas listed in the rubric through 3-4 areas of pre-algebra/basic algebra with 80% accuracy
  • Understands and uses a problem-solving process to solve word problems involving all areas listed in the rubric through 3-4 areas of pre-algebra/basic algebra with 80% accuracy
  • Uses and explains the use of a calculator to compute problems in all areas listed in the rubric through 3-4 areas of pre-algebra/basic algebra

Developing Math
