Understanding financial aid doesn't have to be a complex task. As a transition instructor or counselor, you should become familiar with the financial aid guidelines and process. This website provides students with the tools to understand the true costs of higher education. It also helps guide the student through the financial aid and scholarship process.

Government Info & Services for College Students

This is the federal government's website devoted not only to higher education and financial aid, it also contains information and links on career development, military service, and community service.

Step-by-step Guide for Adult Students

This website is geared specifically towards adult students who are interested in attending college for the first time or who are returning students. It takes a different approach to helping the adult student get into college. It helps the student establish career goals and developing plan first before deciding on a school and course of action.

Financial Aid Forms Online

This website gives the student direct access to the Free Application for Student Aid. Students can complete, sign, and submit applications online. All applications are saved in a secure database so students can check previous applications whenever they want. Info. also available in Spanish.

Patsy Takemoto Mink Education Foundation for Low-Income
Women and Children

The Patsy Takemoto Mink Education Foundation offers up to five Education Support Awards for low-income women (up to $2000 each) and a number of small grants (up to $500 each) to support low-income women who are enrolled in education or training. Applications can be found at this website.
