Hunter R. Boylan
Dr. Hunter R. Boylan is Director of the National Center for Developmental Education, a Professor of Higher Education at Appalachian State University, and former Director of the Kellogg Institute. He is a past President of the National Association for Developmental Education, the current Chairperson of the American Council of Developmental Education Associations, the founder of Research in Developmental Education, and the Principal Investigator for the National Study of Developmental Education. He directed the nation's first doctoral program in developmental education at Grambling State University. Dr. Boylan has more than a decade of practical experience working with learning centers, developmental programs, and TRIO Programs. He has published three books and authored or coauthored 91 articles, monographs, and book chapters. A frequent presenter, he was the keynote speaker for NCTN's Effective Transitions in Adult Education Conference in 2006.
